How to Avoid a Tennessee DUI Stop

Being charged with DUI in Tennessee as in any state can be a very traumatic and costly experience, but with some proper planning you can avoid this ugly situation.

Your first obvious choice is to assign a designated driver if you and a group of friends are planning on going out on the town for the evening. If you are just going out to dinner with your wife or friends and you plan on having a couple of beers or glasses of wine with dinner.

I recommend that you carry a personal breathalyzer device with you and keep it in your car at all times. Then before you put those keys in the ignition, pull out your personal breathalyzer and test yourself to make sure you are no where near the legal limit.

If when you test yourself and you register a BAC of 0.05%, it becomes a judgment call on your part as to whether or not you should even drive. Yes you are below the Tennessee legal limit, but if you were to get stopped by an officer on your way home, you run the risk of BAC level rising to 0.08% or greater by the time the officer gets around to testing you.

If you did not follow either of the recommendation above for avoiding this situation and you end up getting arrested for a DUI in Tennessee, it is strongly recommended that you hire an experienced Tennessee DUI Lawyer to defend you in your case.

Trying to fight a Tennessee DUI charge without an experienced DUI Lawyer on your side is like trying to fly a plane without knowing how, you literally have zero chance of landing that plane successfully and walking away unscathed.
